LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. (April 20, 2026) – The Northern Arizona women's golf team leads the Big Sky Conference Championship after round one, sitting at two-under par (282). The Lumberjacks hold a two-stroke advantage over Northern Colorado and Montana State.
Senior Nina Lukyanenko is currently tied for second, returning to the clubhouse three-under par with a bogey-free 68. She opened with two pars before recording her first birdie on the par-5 third hole for a one-under 35 on the front nine. Nine consecutive pars led to her second birdie on the par-3 13th.
Lukyanenko closed out the round with a third birdie on hole 18, another par-5. She has previously excelled on this course, posting a 68 (-3) in the second round of last year's championship, which was a career best at the time, and helping her finish eighth overall, also a career best at the time.
She is tied for the lead in par-3 scoring average at 2.83 (-1), tied fifth on the par-4s at even par, and tied for eighth on the par-5s at -2.
Frankie Dezis also posted a red number on day one with a 70 (-1). The Englishwoman made five birdies, including one on the opening hole and others on the fourth, 12th, 14th, and 18th holes. Dezis leads the team in par-4 scoring with 3.86 (-1), tied for third in the field. She is currently averaging 3.33 (+2) on the par-3s and 4.60 on the par-5s (-2).
Lizzie Neale and Amy Hodgkins both carded rounds of 72 (+1), tying for 15th. Neale made birdies on holes two and 16, while Hodgkins recorded four birdies overall. Hodgkins finished strong, going three-under on the last five holes with birdies on 14, 17, and 18.
Neale is even par on the par-3s, tied for seventh best, and one-over on the par-5s (5.20). Hodgkins is tied for 16th in par-3 scoring (3.17, +1) and tied for 25th on the par-5s at even par. Both are tied with Lukyanenko at even par on the par-4s.
Freshman Lydia Lin rounded out the Lumberjacks' lineup, shooting 75 (+4) to tie for 27th on the leaderboard. She made birdies on holes five and 18. Her par-3 average is 3.17 (+1), par-4 average is 4.71 (+5), and she is tied for eighth on the par-5s with Dezis and Lukyanenko at 4.60 (-2).
As a team, Northern Arizona leads the field in scoring average on the par-3s (3.10, +3) and par-4s (4.11, +4). The Lumberjacks are fourth in par-5 scoring at 4.80 (-5). With 16 total birdies, NAU is tied for first with Northern Colorado and ranks fourth in total pars with 57.
Northern Arizona will resume play at 8:40 a.m. MST tomorrow, with Lin teeing off first, followed by 10-minute interval tee times. The Lumberjacks will play alongside Northern Colorado and Montana State. Live scoring of the tournament is available via Clippd Scoreboard.
