FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (April 22, 2026) – The No. 2 Northern Arizona women's tennis team will begin postseason play in the Big Sky Championships this week. The Lumberjacks will face the winner of the quarterfinal match tomorrow between Idaho State and Montana State on Friday, April 24th at 8 a.m. MST, at the Phoenix Tennis Center in Phoenix, Ariz.
NAU closed the regular season with a 7-7 overall record and 6-2 mark in league matches, finishing second overall in the standings and earning a bye to the semifinals of the tournament.
Earlier today, the conference released its end-of-season awards, which featured four Lumberjacks.
Patrycja Niewiadomska was named Singles First Team, while
Andrea Noguera and
Natalie Rainke were both listed Singles Second Team.
Elen Jantacova rounded up the singles awards by receiving Honorable Mention in the category.
Those four also all received nods in partner play, as the pairs of Jantacova and Rainke, and Niewiadomska and Noguera both earned a place on the Doubles Second Team.
NAU previously topped Idaho State 4-3 on Mar. 26 in Flagstaff and fell by the same score in Bozeman to Montana State on April 3.
The Lumberjacks will look to secure their first tournament title since the 2022 season and sixth overall. Last season, NAU fell 4-0 in the championship match to Sacramento State.
