Hodgkins' 68 Leads NAU Golf at Chevron Silverado Showdown Finale

NAPA, Calif. (April 8, 2026) - Northern Arizona women's golf closed out play at the Chevron Silverado Showdown on Wednesday, finishing 14th at 36-over-par (900) for the tournament.

Southern California captured the team title at -37, 22 strokes ahead of Eastern Michigan (-15). The Trojans' Jasmine Koo claimed individual medalist honors with a 54-hole total of -10, one shot ahead of teammates Bailey Shoemaker and Catherine Park.

"We were very fortunate to play in such a great tournament with an awesome field and course," head coach Brad Bedortha said. "We did some great things, but overall weren't as competitive as we were hoping to be. We have about a week and a half to prepare for the Big Sky Conference, and we are still confident that we can be competitive at the conference championship and give ourselves the best opportunity to win."

Northern Arizona was led by a standout final round from Amy Hodgkins, who surged up the leaderboard 29 spots with a 4-under 68 to finish tied for 27th at +4 (220). Starting on hole 16 in the shotgun format, the junior picked up her first birdie on No. 17. A double bogey on hole 3 did not derail her momentum, as she responded with birdies on holes six, eight, nine, 11 and 12. She added her seventh birdie of the round on her final hole, the 163-yard par-3 15th. Hodgkins averaged 2.92 (-1) on par 3s, tied for fifth best in the field, and played the par 4s at even-par, tied for 12th. Her 11 total birdies were tied 11th.

Lizzie Neale also finished tied for 27th at +4 (220) after carding a 3-over 75 in the final round. The senior, who led NAU through the first two rounds, remained steady throughout the tournament. Her lone birdie came on hole 15, her second hole of the day. Neale tied for sixth in the field with 38 total pars. She played the par 3s at even-par (tied for 13th), the par 4s at 4.10 (+3) and the par 5s at 5.08 (+1).

Frankie Dezis closed with a 5-over 77 to finish tied for 43rd at +9 (225). The junior contributed in all three rounds, with her final round highlighted by back-to-back birdies on holes 4 and 5. Dezis tied for 26th in par-3 scoring at 3.08 (+1) and led the team in par-5 scoring at 4.83 (-2).

Freshman Lydia Lin recorded a 6-over 78 in the final round to finish 83rd overall at +19 (235), while Nina Lukyanenko rounded out the lineup with an 11-over 83 to place 88th at +28 (244).

Northern Arizona will next prepare for its final tournament of the season, the Big Sky Conference Championship, set for April 20-22 at the Wigwam Blue Course in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
