FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (April 9, 2026) - With the No. 2 seed in the Big Sky Championships at stake, the Northern Arizona women's tennis team takes on the Idaho Vandals on Friday, April 11 at 10 a.m. MST, in their final home match of the season. Prior to the match, NAU will honor senior Patrycja Niewiadomska for her contributions and commitment to the program.
With a win, the Lumberjacks will clinch the No. 2 seed outright. Last season the Lumberjacks came out on top against the Vandals in the Kibbie Dome, 5-2. Along with NAU and Idaho, Idaho State also has a chance for the No. 2 seed.
NAU is coming off a trip to Montana where it went 1-1, recording a win against the Montana Grizzlies and loss to the Montana State Bobcats. Natalie Rainke and Elen Jantacova recorded singles wins in both matches of that weekend, as Jantacova won both watches in straight sets while Rainke had two three-set battles.
Idaho enters the matchup with the Lumberjacks with a 10-8 overall record, but a 4-2 record in conference play. In the Vandals' last match, they lost to the sixth place Portland State Vikings by the slimmest of margins, 4-3.Â
