WACO, Texas (May 12, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team is in 12th place after completing the second round of the NCAA Waco Regional.
No. 21 SMU leads the tournament with a total team score of 14-under par after recording an 11-under round today. The Mustangs have an eight-stroke advantage over Texas A&M (6-under) and a 13-stroke lead over LSU (1-under).
A player from each of those schools is tied atop the leaderboard at 5-under through two rounds.
For Northern Arizona, Amy Hodgkins climbed six spots to stand in a tie for 15th place. Her round of 68 began on hole 10. She picked up her first birdie of the day on hole 11, a 331-yard par 4. A clean run of pars put her at 1-under through her first nine before two more birdies came on holes two and four. A lone bogey on hole six brought her to 2-under for the day and even par through 36 holes. The junior is averaging even par on the par 3s, tied for the 19th-best mark in the field. Her par-4 scoring average is tied for 19th at 4.04 (+1), while her par-5 average of 4.75 (-1) is tied for eighth best.
Freshman Lydia Lin is tied for 39th after shooting a 74 (+4) today. She made 14 pars and sits at 5-over through two rounds. On the par 3s, she is averaging 3.13 (+1). On the par 4s, she is averaging 4.21 (+5), and she is tied with Hodgkins for eighth on the par 5s at 4.75 (-1).
Frankie Dezis carded a 73 (+3) with four birdies on the day. She opened with back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11 before adding others on holes one and three. Her two-round total stands at 9-over, which puts her in solo 50th on the leaderboard. She is tied with Lin in par-3 average, averaging 4.17 (+4) on the par 4s and 6.0 (+4) on the par 5s.
Lizzie Neale unfortunately withdrew due to injury.
As a team, the Lumberjacks are tied for seventh in par-3 scoring (3.13, +4), seventh in par-4 scoring (4.20, +18) and 10th in par-5 scoring (5.13, +2). They have recorded 12 total birdies and 89 pars.
NAU will begin the final round tomorrow at 7:10 a.m. MST alongside Colorado and Prairie View A&M.
