Soccer Announces Addition of Navas to sideline

 FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (June 30, 2026) – The Northern Arizona soccer team has added Jason Navas to the coaching staff as an assistant coach and the Director of Goalkeepers, head coach Alan Berrios announced Tuesday evening.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jason to the Lumberjack family!" Berrios said. "Jason is a proven goalkeeper coach and an outstanding recruiter. He has a tremendous ability to build strong relationships with players and understands exactly what it takes to recruit and develop student-athletes who can succeed at this level. We're excited to have him on board and look forward to working with him!"

Navas arrives to Flagstaff via way of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he was an assistant coach and recruiting camp coordinator. Prior to his time with the Tritons, Navas held stops at Florida Southern College as well as Saint Leo University, and Webber International University. He also coached with the Clearwater Chargers Soccer Club and the West Florida Flames. With the Flames, Navas was on staff of the ENCL program, helping coach the group's youngest players pre-ECNL. He also led the U16 and U10 girls and the U13 boy's academies at West Florida.

Navas holds experience coaching goalkeepers of all ages and spent time as an assistant coach with both the boys and girls' teams River Ridge High School, where they each made regional appearances. A four-year varsity letterwinner in High School himself, he earned Tampa Tribune and All-Suncoast Honors, played for the Chargers DA system, and was an alternate on the 96 ODP Championship squad. Navas also appeared in an All-Star match against Liverpool Youth Academy and has attended U.S. National Team training camps.

The native of New Port Richey, Florida completed a bachelor's degree in criminology in 2019 online from USF-St. Petersburg in 2019.

Navas is a USSF and C licensed coach. He also holds several diplomas through United Soccer Coaches, including Goalkeeping one and two.
