FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 13, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team will open its 2026-27 season at the Branch Law Firm/dick McGuire Invitational on Sept. 14 and 15. The tournament will be hosted by New Mexico and will feature 12 total teams, with 54 holes played at the UNM Championship Golf Course (par 72, 6,354 yards).

On Monday, the Lumberjacks will play 36 holes alongside Nevada and Big Sky rival Montana State. They will tee off at 6:30 a.m. MST in a shotgun format, with Frankie Dezis starting on hole four. Freshman Kristyna Malinova will begin on hole five, followed by Ella Zanatta on six, and Gracie Heinle and Alexa Ouellet on seven.
Freshmen Sofia Blanco and Martyna Muchajer will compete as individuals and will begin on holes 14 and 15, respectively.
Tuesday will feature the final 18 holes, with the pairings to be determined by the first day's results.
This year's field includes: CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, Fresno State, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas El Paso, UC Irvine, and UNLV.
At last year's tournament, the Lumberjacks finished with a total score of 885 (+21) to place fifth out of 15 teams. Former Big Sky rival Sacramento State was the team champion with a score of 867 (+3).
Dezis went bogey-free in the final round, shooting 68 (-4) to climb 12 places on the leaderboard and tie for second individually.
Northern Arizona will head to Vail, Colo., next week for the Golfweek Red Sky Classic (Sept. 21-23). They will play two tournaments in October, returning to New Mexico on Oct. 12-13 for the NMSU Golf Iconic Classic before hosting their annual Clash at Boulder Creek from Oct. 25-27
