FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 19, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team will head to Vail, Colo., for their second tournament of the 2026-27 season, competing in the Golfweek Red Sky Classic from Sept. 21-23. Live stats for the tournament can be found via Golf Stat.
The tournament will be held on the Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club, playing at 6,376 yards and par 72. This will be the fifth time Northern Arizona has competed in the event. The Lumberjacks have made history on this course in the past, with Eliska Kocourkova recording a hole-in-one in 2022 and Ellena Slater following with one of her own in 2024.
Last year, the 'Jacks closed out the third round of the event with an impressive under-par final round of 286 (-2). Northern Arizona climbed three spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for seventh with UC Irvine and Eastern Michigan after posting a three-round total of +14.
This year's tournament field includes Arizona, CS Fullerton, Colorado, Denver, East Tennessee State, Kansas, Little Rock, LSU, Mercer, Miami, New Mexico State, Pepperdine, Southern California, Texas A&M, UC Irvine and UNC Asheville.
Southern California will look to defend its tournament-record team score of 819 (-45) from 2025 after finishing 17 strokes ahead of second-place Pepperdine (-28). USC's Kylie Chong and Jasmine Koo shared the individual title, each tying the tournament record with a score of 203 (-13), matching the mark set by UCLA's Mariel Galdiano in 2018.
Northern Arizona's lone returning golfer, Frankie Dezis, shot an even-par 72 in the final round last year despite starting the round with three bogeys. She recovered with four birdies to even out her score. Her three-round total of 220 (+5) earned her a tie for 35th.
The Lumberjacks are coming off a seventh-place finish at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., to open their season. They saved their best round for last, shooting 1-over par in the third round to climb four spots on the leaderboard and finish with a total of +27.
The lineup for NAU will feature Kristyna Malinova, Dezis, Ella Zanatta, Gracie Heinle and Martyna Muchajer.
Looking ahead, Northern Arizona will return to New Mexico for the NMSU Golf Iconic Classic from Oct. 12-14 before hosting its annual Clash at Boulder Creek from Oct. 25-27.
