NAU Swimming and Diving Announces Packed 2026-27 Schedule

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 8, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving team has released their 2026-27 schedule, head coach Andy Johns announced this morning.

The Lumberjacks own one Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and 12 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) titles under its belt as they head into an 18-meet season with eyes on the NCAA Championship in March.

"Our schedule is set up with some challenging dual meets to help us prepare for what will be a very tough conference meet with the addition of new teams," Johns said. "Starting off at home in October will be nice, and then an important road trip to Colorado will be an opportunity to race another set of quality opponents away from Flagstaff. January is full of competition that will be a great lead-up to conference."

The annual Pentathlon on Friday, Sept. 18 in Flagstaff will kick off the season for the 'Jacks, leading them into Blue vs. Gold two weeks later on Friday, Oct. 2.

October will continue in Flagstaff for the Lumberjacks as Johns and head diving coach Nikki Kelsey guide their team through match ups with Arizona State (Oct. 9), Washington State (Oct. 30), and Idaho (Oct. 31).

The 'Jacks will then make their way to Colorado the first weekend of November to face off against Northern Colorado (Nov. 6) and Colorado State (Nov. 7), before attending the four-day Colorado Mesa Invite a week later (Nov. 18-21). Simultaneously, the Lumberjack Diving Invite will be held in Flagstaff (Nov. 19-21).

NAU will close the calendar year hosting the Utah Tech Trailblazers on Dec. 5. Last season, NAU bested Utah Tech three of the four match up days, with one day ending in a draw. The following week, Kelsey will take the divers to Midland, Texas for the USA Diving Senior National Championships (Dec. 8-15).

The New Year will open with three road meets for NAU, starting in Tucson with Arizona on Jan. 7. The 'Jacks will head to Las Cruces, N.M. and face New Mexico State on Jan. 9, with the intention of reclaiming gold after a 195.5-89 win last season.

The 'Jacks then head back to St. George, Utah, for a two-day battle with the Trailblazers, completing the home-and-home series after dominating the match up last season (Jan. 22-23).

The diving team will host its spring edition of the Lumberjack Diving Invite from Jan. 28-30, while New Mexico joins the swimmers in Flagstaff on Jan. 30 for senior day.

This year, the MPSF Championships will take place in dual sites. The diving team will host the conference in the Wall Aquatic Center from Feb. 15-19, while the swimmers will look to defend their conference title in St. George, Utah from Feb. 17-20.
