Golf competes at opening rounds of UC Riverside’s Battle at the Rock

ROUND ONE AND TWO RESULTS

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Northern Arizona University's Sofia Anokhina and Sierra Bezdicek sit tied for 11th at two-over as the women's golf team got its season underway with the first and second rounds of UC Riverside's Battle at the Rock on Monday at Oak Quarry Golf Club.

Anokhina opened the first 18 holes with a one-under 71 and followed with a 75 for 146 total strokes. Bezdicek shot back-to-back 73's as both golfers sit six strokes off the leader.

Emma Reyes is tied for 44th after a combined total of 10-over. Kaitlyn Saum and Carly Akine are right behind her in a tie for 54th with a 12-over performance.

Lexi Keene and Loren Skibba sit just behind them in a tie for 59th with scores of 13-over.

As a team the Lumberjacks find themselves in a tie for eighth place with a 26-over, 602 after the first two rounds.

UC Davis sits in first place with a three-over performance. Hawaii (nine-over), UC Riverside (11-over), Stetson (15-over) and Nevada (17-over) round out the top five.

Northern Arizona concludes the Battle at the Rock with the final round of the tournament on Tuesday morning with a shotgun start beginning at 8:56 a.m. MST.
