Women’s Golf Opens First Two Rounds of Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Monday

DAY ONE RESULTS

MARICOPA, Ariz. - Sofia Anokhina finished with a two-round total of one-over as the Northern Arizona University women's golf team opened the first two rounds of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club on Monday.

The Lumberjacks closed the opening day of the classic tied for 11th at 25-over.

Anokhina led the team after posting rounds of 71 and 74. She was tied for 12th overall and finished with seven birdies.

Kaitlyn Saum was behind her in a tie for 34th at five-over.

Sierra Bezdicek finished in a tie for 42nd with a six-over. Carly Akine sits in a tie for 65th at 10-over.

Lexi Kenne is slotted in a tie for 80th with a 13-over showing. Emma Reyes rounded out the NAU scoring attack in a tie for 96th with a 18-over performance.

Loren Skibba also competed at the tournament but withdrew after posting a score of 76 in the opening round.

The Lumberjacks concluded the final round of the Cowgirl Classic on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MST.
