FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 21, 2019) – Northern Arizona University's women's golf program will be participating in the Grand Canyon University Women's Spring Invitational hosted by GCU on Feb. 23
rd and 24
th.

The Invitational will be held at the GCU Championship Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz., which features a 6,110 yard course and a par of 72. The first day of action will begin with a Shotgun Start at 8 A.M. (MST), however a frost delay is expected.

NAU has had success at this tournament before as they took the title crown in 2014 after going 56-over par for a total tally of 920.

The field of play will include 19 collegiate teams.
Â
Five Big Sky Conference opponents will be joining the 'Jacks in Phoenix consisting of Montana State, Portland State, Northern Colorado, Eastern Washington and Southern Utah.

Other schools competing include host GCU, CSU-Bakersfield, South Dakota State, Creighton, North Dakota State, UC-Riverside, Seattle, Lamar, California Baptist, CSU-Northridge, Hawaii, McNeese State, Toledo and Utah Valley State.

The Lumberjacks are coming off of their first spring tournament after placing 16
th in the Rebel Beach Invitational.
Ashley Croft was able to make some noise early this spring season after being awarded this past week's Big Sky Conference Female Golfer of the Week.

"Due to the weather in the area we have not been able to get much of a chance to practice," said head women's golf coach
Brad Bedortha. "We had a good practice in Rolle yesterday and hopefully we get to practice at GCU's course before the Invitational to help with our preparation for this tournament."

The 'Jacks will be sending five attached golfers to the Invitational.
Ashley Croft, Elle Kocurkova,
Aleksandra Chekalina,
Loren Skibba and
Sara Padilla will represent the Blue & Gold this weekend;
Emma Reyes will also make the trip but will be the one unattached individual golfer NAU will be bringing.
