PHOENIX, Ariz. (February 23, 2019) – Northern Arizona University's women's golf program participated on the 2019 GCU Invitational today at the GCU Championship Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz.
The 'Jacks are currently in a tie with Seattle for 16
th-place and are 41-over par as a team.
NAU's lead golfer through the first day is
Aleksandra Chekalina. She sits in a nine-way tie for 17
th-place. As of this publication Chekalina is five-over par for the entire tournament. She went two-over par in the first round and three-over par thus far in the second round. Chekalina is thru 14-holes in the second round entering the final day of play.
Ashley Croft is in a tie for 31
st-place. She had a great first round at only one-over par. However, in the second round she shot six-over par bringing her tournament total to seven-over par. She is also thru 14-holes in the second round.
Behind Croft is
Elle Kocourkova who sits in a tie for 53
rd-place. She shot eight-over par in the first round but was able to bounce back in the second round shooting only two-over par. Kocourkova is ten-over par and thru 15-holes in the second round at the suspension in play.
Sara Padilla is in a tie for 95
th-place. She also shot eight-over par in the first round and followed that up with an 11-over par showing thru 15-holes in the second round. She currently is 19-over par.
The second round will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. (MST); another frost delay is expected. The third and final round will begin with a Shotgun Start after the conclusion of the second round.
