FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 26, 2019) – Northern Arizona University's track & field program will be sending three student-athletes to the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala., on March 8
th and 9
th.
Luis Grijalva and
Tyler Day will race in the men's 5000m Run. Day currently has the fastest time in the country in the 5000m. His time of 13:31.36 is two full seconds ahead of the next closest athlete (Amon Kemboi, Campbell, 13:33.64). Grijalva was able to qualify with a time of 13:40.35.
Geordie Beamish will also be making the trip to Birmingham to participate in the men's mile. His qualifying time was earned off of a 3:57.99 mile.
Grijalva was the men's 5000m Run champion and Beamish was the men's Mile Run champion at 2019 Big Sky Indoor Conference Championships.
