COMPLETE LIST OF 2018-19 ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA BASKETBALL TEAMS
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 11, 2019) – Northern Arizona University men's basketball junior
Brooks DeBisschop has been selected as a member of the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-American Third Team, which was announced on Monday.
The junior forward is just the third player in the history of the NAU Basketball program to receive the honor and the first since 2006 – joining Kelly Golob (2006) and Jeff Altman (1985).
DeBisschop, currently leads the Lumberjacks with a .582 shooting percentage from the field and in blocks with 20. He has started 22 games and averaged 7.1 points and 5.9 rebounds as one of NAU's primary options in the post. For his career, he currently has totaled four double-doubles to go along with 454 points and 462 rebounds.
In the classroom, DeBisschop boasts a 3.96 grade point average while majoring in finance. The junior has only received one grade below an "A" in his academic career. He is a two-time Academic All-Big Sky choice and a back-to-back recipient of NAU's Golden Eagle Scholar Athlete Award.
The Google Cloud Academic All-America Teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America Men's Basketball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
