Matilde Roe Named Big Sky Athlete of the Week

BIG SKY CONFERENCE RELEASE

OGDEN, Utah (April 8, 2019) - The Big Sky Conference announced Northern Arizona University track & field student-athlete Matilde Roe as the Athlete of the Week for the women's field disciplines after her performance in the javelin throw competition this past weekend at the 40th Annual Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz.

The Bergen, Norway native hit a mark of 48.86m on her second attempt to earn the top spot among collegiate participants in the event. This was Roe's first time competing in the javelin attached to NAU and she was able to set the bar high for herself after just one meet. Roe has established herself as one of NAU's top women's throwers and her performance at the Sun Angel Classic was a great sign of things to come.

This is Roe's first Big Skt Athlete of the Week award.
Northern Arizona track & field will be back in action again on April 17th for the first day of the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif.
