DAY 1 RESULTS
POCATELLO, Idaho (February 27, 2020) – With 3,379 points on Thursday, freshman
Madeline Wilson placed seventh in the women's Pentathlon, earning two team points for the Northern Arizona women's track & field team at the Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Wilson, the top freshman finisher in the 15-athlete field, had her best event finish in the day's first event – the 60m hurdles. Wilson placed third with a time of 9.07.
She followed up with a top mark of 1.57m in the high jump before tossing a best mark of 9.12m in the shot put.
Wilson, the local product out of Flagstaff, proceeded to post a mark of 5.30m in the long jump, which placed her fifth in the event. Wilson's mark of 5.30m was just shy of her season-best of 5.33m
In the Pentathlon's final event – the 800m run – Wilson clocked a personal-best time of 2:31.99. The time was almost a second and a half faster than her previous best this season.
Wilson is the first Lumberjack to score points at the Big Sky Indoor Championships in the Pentathlon since Jade Childs placed third in 2014.
Friday's individual events begin at 1:30 p.m. with the men's weight throw and men's long jump.
