BOULDER CITY, Nev. (October 25, 2021) – Battling serious wind on Monday at Boulder Creek Golf Club, the Northern Arizona golf team managed to move up a spot to 12th after posting a 20-over par 308 during the second round of The Clash at Boulder Creek. Elle Kocourkova leading the way once again with her second consecutive 3-over par 75.
Kocourkova birdied her first hole of the day on 12 and played 14 of 18 holes to par in closing the day in a tie for 25th at 6-over par 150 (75-75). Despite the challenging conditions, Kocourkova was solid heading into the clubhouse, recording par on her final nine holes.
Senior
Aleksandra Chekalina also managed the course well on Monday, carding a 4-over par 76 – one stroke better than her first round score. Chekalina totaled a team-high three birdies – all coming in six-hole span – and is tied for 41st at 9-over par 153 (77-76).
Kocourkova and Chekalina helped the 'Jacks slide up a spot on the leaderboard, and remain squarely in the mix for a potential top 10 finish. NAU is just five strokes behind Sacramento State for 10th and six strokes behind Long Beach State for ninth.
UNLV claimed the second round team lead after recording the only under-par round amongst the 18-team field. The Rebels, the highest ranked team in the field at No. 44, fired a 1-under par 287, and leads UC Riverside by five strokes at 8-over par 584 (297-287).
Graduate student
Kimberlee Tottori and sophomore
Ekaterina Malakhova were NAU's final two scorers of the day at 6-over par 78 and 7-over par 79 respectively. After two rounds, Tottori is tied for 47th at 10-over par 154 (76-78) and Malakhova is tied for 56th at 12-over par 156 (77-79).

Lorel Hayward – all had moments on Monday. Croft parred her first five holes, while Flores played her first five holes at 2-under par. Hayward, at one stretch, recorded par on eight of nine holes.
Flores (77-81) and Hayward (76-82), both playing as individuals, are tied for 70th at 14-over par 158, while Croft is 95th at 19-over par 163 (78-85)
