FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 28, 2021) – Wrapping up completion as a team this fall, the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks travel to Albuquerque, N.M. This weekend to face a trio of schools in the New Mexico Women's Tennis Halloween Classic.
The hosting New Mexico Lobos, the New Mexico State Aggies and the Colorado State Rams make up the four-team round robin weekend.
Northern Arizona begins the competition at 9:30 a.m. on Friday with singles play against New Mexico State, followed by doubles play against New Mexico at 11:30 a.m.
The second day includes doubles play against New Mexico State at 11:30 a.m. and singles against Colorado State at 1 p.m.
Northern Arizona wraps up the three-day competition on Sunday with doubles against Colorado State at 9:30 a.m. and singles against New Mexico at 11 a.m.
All times are local to Albuquerque, currently one hour ahead of Flagstaff.
During this past spring season, Northern Arizona swept New Mexico in Flagstaff with a pair of wins in doubles as well as singles victories for
Gina Dittmann,
Mimi Bland and
Ava Neyestani.
On the road in Las Cruces, N.M., the Lumberjacks beat the Aggies 5-2. Clinching the doubles point and winning Court 6 by walkover, the Northern Arizona also had singles wins by Dittmann, Bland and
Ellie Millard.
The Lumberjacks have not faced the Rams in a dual match since 2013, but the two programs' players have faced off through the fall in invitational play alongside both New Mexico and New Mexico State.
