FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 27, 2022) - Looking to repeat a Big Sky Championship season, Northern Arizona Men's Tennis will open the 2022 schedule at home this weekend, hosting Arizona Christian and Western New Mexico University.
The Lumberjacks are hosting ACU on Saturday for a doubleheader with matches starting at 10 a.m MST and 2 p.m. MST. Sunday, the 'Jacks will take on WNMU for a double header with matches starting at 10 a.m. MST and 2 p.m. MST.
NAU returns their entire roster from Spring 2021, adding freshman Morgan Donovan and Spring 2022 enrollee, Dani Torres.
The Lumberjacks saw success throughout their fall campaign, where the team sent Eban Straker-Meads, Facundo Tumosa, and Maciej Ziomber to the ITA All-American Championships. Straker-Meads and Tumosa also went on to the ITA National Fall Championships as a doubles pairing.
NAU last hosted the Western New Mexico Mustangs back in February of 2020, for a double-header. The 'Jacks won both matches with scores of 7-0. Arizona Christian and NAU last faced one another in March of 2016, where the 'Jacks won 7-0.
NAU, WNMU, and ACU all three saw competition at the Aggie Invitational in September, which was hosted by New Mexico State University. All three teams saw each other in action at the Aggie Invitational, in doubles as well as singles matches.
