TUCSON, Ariz. (January 7, 2022) - The Lumberjacks finish out day one of the two day meet at the University of Arizona with motivation for tomorrow's events.The wildcats host NAU at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in Tucson for an exhibition two day meet, where the events will not be scored.
SESSION ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Lumberjacks brought in four individual first place finishes Friday.
- In the first event of the day, NAU came in second and third with the 'A' and 'B' relay teams in the 400 medley relay.
- Freshman Casey Craffey finished first in the 1000 yard free with a time of 10:24.23.
- Annie Carlton continued the teams momentum, bringing in a top three finish, coming in third in the 200 backstroke at 2:07.17.
- Haley Mayhew once again impressed in the 200 breaststroke, coming in first at 2:22.20, followed by Delaney Phillips (2:24.17), Jane Shroufe (2:25.32), and Abigail Nelson (2:27.05).
- Finishing less than two seconds after Arizona's Julia Heimstead, Caylah Jago finished second in 100 butterfly at 56.46.
- Sophomore Maddy Rey put the exclamation point on Friday's events with two individual first place finishes in back to back events.
- Rey finished first in the 200 free at 1:54.02, and in the 400 IM 4:31.83.
