FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (April 28, 2022) – The Northern Arizona track and field program will travel to Stanford Calif. for the Payton Jordan Invitational on Friday night and the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Ariz. on Saturday.
Delaney Rasmussen, Jack Shea and Tristan Merchant will respectively compete in the women's and men's 5,000-meter races at the Payton Jordan Invitational on Friday evening at 8:35 P.M. (PT) and 8:55 P.M. (PT).
On Saturday, Jennifer Slater will open the day for the Lumberjacks with the women's hammer throw at noon, followed by the men's hammer throw at 2:30 P.M. (PT) with Blake Baloun, Parker Bays, Will Beaudry, Garret Bernt, Jacob Kaufman, Jack Murphy, and Cole White; Matlie Roe will also throw the women's discus at 2:30 P.M. (PT).
Jake Arnold, Beaudry, Bernt, CJ McMullen, Jay Nielsen, and Rudy Tapia are scheduled to throw the men's discus at 4:30 P.M. (PT), while Kenashalee Kerr, Lily Margolis, Courtney Weisenberger, Madelie Wilson, Joshua Bennett, Sirr Butler, Ian Lipsey, and Cameron Peters will respectively compete in the women's (3 P.M.) and men's long jump (5 P.M.); Roe will throw the women's shot put at 5 P.M. as well.
The track will get started at 5:25 P.M. (PT) with Karsen Burke, Wil Peralta and the Givens Twins in the men's 110-meter hurdles; Marissa Milos will run the women's 100-meter hurdles at 5:40 P.M. (PT) while Jack Normand begins the men's high jump at 5:30 P.M. (PT).
Givens, David Dunlap, Kyle Smith, and Zachary Sutton will run the men's 4x100-meter relay at 5:55 P.M. (PT), followed by Bryn Morley, Elise Stearns and Sophia Roach in the women's 800-meter at 6 P.M., Milos, Maggi Congdon, Melanie Loff, Miracle Onyemaobi, LiNay Perry, and Hannah Schmidt in the women's 400-meter at 6:20 P.M., and Erick Thompson Jr. in the men's 400-meter race at 6:30 P.M. (PT); the women's javelin with Roe, Wilson, Jade Kwinn, and Piper Pfister at 6:30 P.M. (PT).
Later, at 6:55 P.M. (PT) Alyssa Colbert will run the women's 100-meter, while Matthew Roma, Jack Schroeder, Ethan Seppala, Bennett, Dunlap, Lipsey, Smith, and Sutton will run the men's 100-meter at 7:05 P.M. (PT); at 7 P.M. Dominick Singer will compete in the men's pole vault, Kerr, Margolis, Weisenberger, and Jenna Figueora will enter the women's triple jump, and Arnold, Baloun, Bays, Tapia, and White will throw the men's shot put.
The women's and men's steeplechase (7:15 P.M. / 7:25 P.M.) will feature Jenna McCaffrey, Nikita Moore, and Randy Espinoza. Then, at 7:40 P.M., Alex Alton, Burke, Givens, Peralta, Schroeder, Seppala will compete in the men's 400-meter hurdles.
At 8 P.M., Colbert, Schmidt, and Wilson will run the women's 200-meter, while Dunlap, Gives, Roma, Sutton and Smith compete in the men's 200-meter at 8:15 P.M. (PT); Trevor Hook, Clayton Zupke, Mitchell Effing, Butler, Normand, and Peters will respectively close the field with the men's javelin and triple jump at 8:30 P.M. (PT).
Later, Congdon, McCaffrey, Morley, Stearns, Jesselyn Bries, Alexis Kebbe, Casi Land, Chloe Painter, Annika Reiss, Abby Riordan, Emma Sjolund, and Meagan Van Pelt will run the women's 1500-meter at 8:25 P.M. and Espinoza, Caleb Easton, Brodey Hasty, Riley Human, and Aldo Marquez will compete in the men's 1500-meter at 8:45 P.M. (PT); the track events will conclude with women's and men's 4x400-meter relays.
