NAU Soccer Voted 4th in Big Sky Preseason Coaches’ Poll

FARMINGTON, Utah (August 11, 2022) - The Northern Arizona soccer team landed at No. 4 in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches' Poll, putting themselves in the top half of the conference heading into the 2022 season.

The Lumberjacks earned 43 points total, coming in behind Northern Colorado with 61 points and six first place votes, Montana with 54 points and two first place votes, and Weber State with 51 points and one first place vote.

The Lumberjacks are heading into the regular season next week with returning goal keeper Natalie Manzo who ranks second in the Big Sky in save percentage with 76.6%. The 'Jacks also return Junior Maddie Shafer who is tied for second in the conference in points with 12.

NAU looks to improve their conference record from last season's 6-3 Big Sky play as they find rhythm on the field with fifteen newcomers added to the roster. The team hosts its final exhibition match this Sunday in Lumberjack Stadium as they take on Hawaii at 7 p.m. MST.
