FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 25, 2022) – The Northern Arizona University track & field teams will be sending athletes on the road this week as they compete at Boston, Texas Tech, and the University of New Mexico.
Drew Bosley will be heading to Boston to compete in the 3000-meter at the John Thomas Terrier Classic. Bosley has not competed since December when he broke the school and conference 5000-meter record. He ran a time of 13:13.26, moving up to No. 5 on the All-Time Collegiate 5K list.
Both
David Dunlap and
Alyssa Colbert will be traveling to Lubbock for the Texas Tech Open and Multis to compete in the 60-meter and 200-meter races. Dunlap and Colbert have each broken the 60-meter school record already this season, with Dunlap breaking the 200-meter school and conference records.
The jumps squad will be traveling five athletes to Albuquerque for the UNM Team Open. For the men,
Jack Normand will compete in high jump and triple jump while
Mitchell Effing will compete in long jump and triple jump. Normand competed in high jump at the Lumberjack Team Challenge, reaching a height of 2.03 meters, and will compete in the triple jump for the first time this season. Effing set a school at the Axe 'Em Open in the triple jump, jumping 15.81 meters. He is set to compete in the long jump for the first time this season.
On the women's side,
Jenna Figueroa,
Kenashalee Kerr, and
Brenna Rodriguez will be traveling. Kerr and Rodriguez will each compete in the long jump and triple jump, while Figueroa will compete in the high jump and triple jump. Figueroa opened her season competing in the high jump, reaching a height of 1.62 meters in her first collegiate event appearance, earning her seventh place on the school's all-time records list. Kerr competed in the triple jump at the same meet, taking third place with a mark of 11.75 meters. Rodrigueez made her collegiate debut in the long jump, also at the Axe 'Em Open, reaching a distance of 5.25 meters.
