Day One Results
SEDONA, Ariz. (March 18, 2023) – Hosting its home tournament, the Northern Arizona University golf team concluded the first two rounds of the Red Rocks Invitational today at the Oakcreek Country Club (par-72, 6,200) in Sedona. The Lumberjacks end the first day tied for eighth place with Big Sky Conference foe Idaho in the 20-team field after shooting a 602 (+26). NAU shot a 298 in the first round and a 304 in the second.
Delaware leads the field with 582 (+6) strokes, and NAU leads three other Big Sky squads while trailing Weber State who is in sixth place. The 'Jacks enter the third and final round tomorrow just two strokes out of seventh and nine strokes out of fifth.
True freshman
Ellena Slater leads NAU with a 142 (-2) after shooting a 69 in round one and a 73 in round two. After Slater bogied hole five in the first round, she bounced back with two-straight birdies and an eagle to retake the lead. In all through two rounds, Slater earned nine birdies. She will enter the final day just one stroke out of first place, which is currently held by Delaware's Alisa Khoklova.
Nina Lukyanenko, who is competing as an individual, follows Slater with a 148 (+4) and is tied for 15
th after shooting a 76 in round one before improving to a 72 in round two. The second round saw her earn five birdies.
Next in the lineup and tied for 24

Aleksandra Chekalina who shot a 150 (+6) with a 75 in both rounds.
Lizzie Neale is tied for 41
st after shooting a 152 (+8) with a 78 in the first round before bettering her total with a 74 in round two.

Ekaterina Malakhova is competing as an individual and is tied for 82
