ROUND ONE RESULTS
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (April 17, 2023) – The Northern Arizona University golf team completed day one of the Big Sky Conference Championship in fourth place after shooting a 295 (+7) in the first round. The championship is being played at Talking Stick Resort (par-72, 6,247 yards) in Scottsdale, Ariz., with the second and third rounds being played tomorrow and Wednesday.

The Lumberjacks are one stroke ahead of fifth-place Idaho and five strokes behind Weber State and Montana State who are tied for second. Sacramento State shot six-under to lead the field with 282 strokes.

Lizzie Neale shot a 69 (-3) and is tied for first place. The round tied her career low for the third time and is her 10
th round at par or better this season. Neale had five birdies including three on the front nine. She is tied for first with Eastern Washington's Jaelin Ishikawa and Sacramento State's Caitlin Maurice.

Aleksandra Chekalina is tied for 13
th after shooting a 73 (+1). She earned three birdies and finished strong with one on the 17
th hole. Right behind her is
Ashley Croft who is tied for 18
th after shooting two-over par with a 74. She also had three birdies.

Rounding out first round action is
Ellena Slater who is tied for 40
th after shooting a 79 (+7) and
Nina Lukyanenko who is tied for 47
th with an 82 (+10).
