AUSTIN, Texas (June 9, 2023) – The Northern Arizona University track & field team concluded their time at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships with All-American performances from
David Dunlap and
Nico Young.
David Dunlap finished seventh in the finals of the 200-meter, running a school record time of 20.16 to earn first-team All-American honors. Dunlap's seventh-place finish was the highest in both NAU and Big Sky conference history in the event.
Nico Young competed in the 5,000-meter, running a strong race to finish eighth and earn first-team All-American status with a time of 14:10.17. This is Young's second top-8 finish in the event, as he finished third in the 5K at last year's national championships.
Together Dunlap and Young earned three points for the Lumberjacks, tying for 55
th place with Eastern Kentucky, North Carolina A&T, Navy, and Southeast Louisiana.
