ROUND 1 & 2 RESULTS
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. (Sept. 18, 2023) – Back competing on the course for the first time since April, the Northern Arizona University golf team completed its first two rounds of the Leadership and Golf Invitational in University Place, Wash., today.

The invitational is co-hosted by Seattle University and the University of Washington at the Chambers Bay Golf Course (Par-72, 6,093 yards).

After the first two 18-hole rounds, the Lumberjacks sit in 17
th place out of 19 teams with a score of 610 (+34). NAU shot a 302 (+14) in the first round and a 308 (+20) in the second.

Lizzie Neale had a strong opening round to start her sophomore year, shooting a 72 (E) for her 11
th career round at par or better. Neale had four birdies in the first round. After shooting a 79 (+7) in round two for a total of 151 (+7) strokes, the Nelson, New Zealand, native is currently tied for 53rd place.

Following Neale is fifth-year,
Lorel Hayward, who is tied for 62nd after shooting a 74 (+2) in the first round and a 78 (+6) in the second for a total of 152 (+8) strokes. Hayward recorded two birdies in the first round and three in the second.

A pair of freshmen in
Amy Hodgkins and
Frankie Dezis made their collegiate debuts this morning. Hodgkins recorded consecutive birdies on the 17
th and the 18
th hole and ended round one with a 76 (+4). After shooting a 77 (+5) in the second round, Hodgkins sits tied for 66
th with a score of 153 (+9).

Dezis shot an 80 (+8) in the first round and improved in the second, shooting a 76 (+4) to total 156 (+12) strokes on the day to tie for 79
th.

Rounding out the competition is sophomore
Ellena Slater who is tied for 94th with a score of 161 (+17) Slater shot an 84 (+12) in the first round and bounced back with a 77 (+5) in the second.

USC is currently leading the field after shooting a 561 (-15) as a team. The Lumberjacks are competing against one other Big Sky Conference school in Sacramento State who is in sixth place after shooting a 590 (+14) today.
