Women's Tennis Prepares for ITA Regional Championships

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 16, 2024) -- The NAU women's tennis team is headed on the road for the ITA Regional Championships in Las Cruces, New Mexico. All six players on the roster will be competing in the tournament for doubles with sophomore Andrea Noguera not playing in the singles bracket. 

The ITA Regional Championships begin Oct. 17 and will continue through Oct. 21. 

All six players participated in the Lumberjack classic for NAU to kick off the fall campaign, winning two brackets. The doubles bracket, and one of the singles brackets. The doubles bracket was won by Daryna Shoshyna and Elen Jantacova, when they won in the final of the bracket, 6-4. 

Junior Patrycja Niewiadomska won her bracket at the Lumberjack classic, winning the final in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 7-6. She is now looking to build off of her performance at the ITA Regional Championships.

Senior Luara Duhl, also found some success that she is going to try and carry over to the ITA Regional Championships. She took third in her draw winning the match for third in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Freshman Leontina Stojanovic was in a round-robin bracket at the Lumberjack Classic where she went 2-0.
