GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (Nov. 20, 2024) – The Northern Arizona women's swimming team wrapped up the first session of the TYR/CMU Invitational today, competing in three events.
To start the evening, the Lumberjacks put forward two teams in the 200-medley relay. The "A" team, consisting of Gracie Munk, Trelise Dance, Elsa Musselman, and Bena Koehn, finished in third place with a time of 1:41.72. Meanwhile, the "B" team, composed of Lily Powell, Cydnie Perkins, Isahbel Krasht, and Katarina Klatt, posted a time of 1:45.35.
The second women's event of the night was the 1000-yard freestyle, where Keegan Knott swam a time of 11:34.74.
The session concluded with the 800-yard freestyle relay. Bena Koehn, Helena Robla, Meropi Eggink, and Casey Craffey secured third place with a time of 7:25.32. The team of Kokona Watanabe, Kaci Kelaher, Isahbel Krasht, and Kylie Ney recorded a time of 7:37.75, finishing in eighth.
Northern Arizona stands in fourth place after the first day with 108 points.
The invitational continues for three more days. Tomorrow, the Lumberjacks will kick off at 10 a.m. Mountain Standard time with the preliminaries for the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley (IM), and 50-yard freestyle.
The evening session, starting at 5:00 p.m. MST, will feature the finals for the 500 free, 200 IM, and 50 free, as well as the 200 free relay.
