FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (December 20, 2024) – Looking to make their way back to another Big Sky Conference Tournament championship, the Jacks will begin the 2025 campaign on Jan. 25, hosting the Air Force Academy to open season competition.
The Lumberjacks open their season at home where they will host the Air Force Falcons on Jan. 25 and host the UC Riverside Highlanders the next day on Jan. 26. Those are just two of the 10 home matches that NAU will play in Flagstaff during the season.
When it comes to away matches, NAU plays some notable teams. When they travel to Tempe, Arizona, they will take on both the ASU Sun Devils and the DePaul Blue Demons on the same day, Feb. 7.
The Lumberjacks also make similar trips like this, one to Tucson, Arizona to face the Arizona Wildcats and the St. John's Red Storm, on March 6 and March 7. The other one in Albuquerque, New Mexico to battle against the New Mexico Lobos and the UTSA Roadrunners on March 21 and March 22.
When it comes to Big Sky play, NAU kicks it off against the Portland State Vikings in Portland, Oregon on March 1. The last time the Lumberjacks went to Portland was during the 2020 season when they beat the Vikings 7-0.
NAU has 4 Big Sky matches at home where they host the Weber State Wildcats, the Montana Grizzlies, the Sacramento State Hornets and the Montana State Bobcats. Along with the home matches, NAU has 4 away matches in the Big Sky when they will travel to Portland State, the Idaho State Bengals, Eastern Washington Eagles and Idaho Vandals.
NAU will have their Big Sky championship rematch against Sacramento State on April 11. The Lumberjacks fell to the Hornets 1-4 in the Big Sky championship, coming up one match short of making the NCAA tournament. NAU will certainly be seeking revenge in this match against Sacramento State.
