NAU Heads to Montana for Final Road Trip of the Season

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (April 1, 2026) – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team plays its last road matches of the season this weekend against Montana State and Montana. First serve against the Bobcats will be on Friday, April 3 at 12 p.m. MST and against the Griz on Sunday, April 5 at 8 a.m. MST.

The Lumberjacks have won five straight, standing at 12-5 overall and 4-0 in Big Sky matches. NAU has allowed just three points across the win streak and has won the doubles point in every match during that span. The Lumberjacks have won 17 consecutive regular season conference matches dating back to the 2024 season.

Freshman Jakub Jedrzejczak has been key to the Jacks' recent success, as he earned Big Sky Player of the Week honors on Mar. 25. Jedrzejczak owns a 12-3 record in singles and the conference's longest win streak of the season at seven matches.

Montana State is 5-10 overall and 1-2 in Big Sky matches this season, recently falling to Idaho State in a 6-1 decision on Mar. 28.

The Griz were picked first in the Preseason Coaches Poll following their capture of the Big Sky Tournament title last Spring, in a 4-2 decision over NAU which the Jacks will look to avenge. Montana is 9-6 on the season and 2-0 in conference action, having lost just once at home to Utah State, 4-3, back on Jan. 25. Baltazar Wiger-Nordas has won four straight in singles, playing at the No. 1 and 2 positions this season.
