LITCHFIELD, Ariz. (April 16, 2024) – Sophomore
Lizzie Neale is two strokes out of first place as the Northern Arizona University golf team concluded the second round of the Big Sky Conference Championships today. The Lumberjacks shot a 293 (+9) for the second-straight day to head into the third and final round in third place with 586 (+18) strokes.
NAU has been in action at The Wigwam Golf Course (par-71, 5,948 yards) in Litchfield, Ariz. Neale shot a 68 today (-3) to move up to second place with 139 (-3) strokes after recording six birdies. After shooting a 71 (E) yesterday, she now has 15 rounds at par or better this season.
Neale enters the third round just two strokes behind the leader, Jennifer Koga, from Sacramento State. The Hornets are the defending Big Sky Champions and will take an 18-stroke lead into the final day.
As a team, the Lumberjacks are four strokes behind second-place Weber State and have a one-stroke lead over fourth place Montana State and a two-stroke lead over fifth place Montana.

Frankie Dezis had the best round today, shooting a 73 (+2) to tie for 36
th with 152 (+10) strokes after improving from a 79 (+8) yesterday. She recorded four birdies today plus an eagle on the third hole.
Amy Hodgkins continues to play consistently, recording another 75 (+4) to bring her total to 150 (+8) strokes to tie for 26
th.
Both
Ellena Slater and
Nina Lukyanenko are tied for 31
st with 151 (+9) strokes. Slater shot a 77 (+6) in round two while Lukyanenko shot a 78 (+7).
