FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (May 23, 2024) – The NAU track & field team continued competition at the NCAA West Regional, seeing another 10,000-meter national qualifier.
Aliandrea Upshaw overcame a midrace fall to eventually finish ninth in the 10,000-meter and qualify for the NCAA National Championships. Upshaw ran a time of 34:16.95.
Ruby Smee placed 23
rd in the 10K after running a time of 35:00.76, with
Anna Fenske close behind in 25
th with a time of 35:02.43.
Meagan Van Pelt was the final NAU competitor in the event, finishing 43
rd with a time of 37:15.13.
Maggi Congdon and
Keira Moore both qualified for the quarterfinals of the 1,500-meter. Congdon finished fourth in the second section of the first round, running a time of 4:19.65. Moore placed fifth in the first section of the first round after running a season-best time of 4:21.32. Congdon and Moore will compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday, May 25 at 3:15 p.m. MST.
Madeline Wilson qualified for the quarterfinals of the 200-meter after running a wind-aided time of 22.96. Wilson will compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday, May 25 at 5:50 p.m. MST.
Sariyah Horne-Kemp finished 29
th overall in the hammer throw with a mark of 56.47 meters.
Kyairra Reigh finished 31
st overall in the 400-meter after running a time of 53.27.
LiNay Perry finished 47
th overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.82.
