FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (May 25, 2024) – The NAU track & field team concluded their time at the NCAA West Regional with multiple national qualifying performances and a school record.
The women's 4x400-meter relay broke the NAU school record, with
Madeline Wilson,
LiNay Perry,
Maggi Congdon, and
Kyairra Reigh combining to run a time of 3:33.01 and qualify for the national meet. This is the second time in school history that the 4x400-meter relay has qualified for the NCAA National Championships, with the Lumberjacks competing at the 1982 national meet.
Annika Reiss and
Gracelyn Larkin both qualified for the national meet in the 5,000-meter. Reiss ran a time of 15:57.81, while Larkin ran a time of 16:03.86.
Ava Mitchell finished 25
th overall with a time of 16:35.45 while
Nikita Moore finished 29
th with a time of 16:39.70.
Bryn Morley finished 31
st with a time of 16:46.24 with
Aliandrea Upshaw finishing 33
rd after running a time of 16:49.79.
Maggi Congdon finished fourth in her heat of the 1,500-meter with a time of 4:18.05 to earn her spot at the national meet.
Keira Moore finished 21
st in the event after running a time of 4:23.60.
Karrie Baloga qualified for the national championships after finishing second in her heat of the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 10:00.72. Her time is the second-fastest in NAU school history.
Madeline Wilson finished 20
th overall in the 200-meter after running a wind-aided time of 23.09.
Kenashalee Kerr finished 46
th overall in the triple jump with a wind-aided mark of 12.07 meters.
