FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (June 14, 2024) – The NAU track & field team will have a solid group of current and former athletes competing at the USATF Olympic Trials beginning next week.
Nico Young will compete in both the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter, with the finals of the 10,000-meter taking place on June 21 at 7:27 p.m. MST. The first round of the 5,000-meter is set for June 27 at 8:03 p.m. MST and the finals of the men's 5,000-meter will be run on June 30 at 4:30 p.m. MST.
Abdihamid Nur will compete in the 5,000-meter alongside Young, while Futsum Zienasellassie will compete in the 10,000-meter.
Colin Sahlman will run in the 1,500-meter, with the first round taking place on June 21 at 5:22 p.m. MST. The semifinal round will be run on June 22 at 6:54 p.m. MST while the finals will be run on June 24 at 5:47 p.m. MST.
Maggi Congdon will compete in the 1,500-meter, competing in the first round on June 27 at 5:23 p.m. MST. The semifinal of the event will take place on June 28 at 5:58 p.m. MST while the finals will be run on June 30 at 5:09 p.m. MST.
Alyson Churchill will run the 5,000-meter and the 10,000-meter, with the 5,000-meter first round taking place on June 21 at 6:22 p.m. MST followed by the finals on June 24 at 7:09 p.m. MST. The finals of the 10,000-meter will take place on June 29 at 6:09 p.m. MST.
Karrie Baloga will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after placing eighth at the NCAA Outdoor National Championship. The first round will be run on June 24 at 5:59 p.m. MST with the finals of the event taking place on June 27 at 7:18 p.m. MST.
Kyairra Reigh will compete in the 400-meter, with the first round taking place on June 21 at 3:48 p.m. MST. The semifinal round of the women's 400-meter will take place on June 22 at 7:14 p.m. MST, with the finals of the event taking place on June 23 at 6:58 p.m. MST.
David Dunlap will compete in the 200-meter, with the first round of the event taking place on June 27 at 7:06 p.m. MST. The second round will be run on June 28 at 7:28 p.m. MST and the finals taking place on June 29 at 6:49 p.m. MST.
Brooke Andersen will compete in the women's hammer throw with the qualifying round taking place on June 21 at 11:00 a.m. MST. Finals of the event will take place on June 23 at 5:00 p.m. MST.
The USATF Olympic Trials will begin on Friday, June 21 with competition being televised on NBC. A full schedule of events can be found
