FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 19, 2024) – Northern Arizona women's tennis is kicking off some fall action with the Lumberjack Classic this weekend, hosting New Mexico, UNLV, and GCU at the NAU Tennis Center.
Matches on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will begin at 9 a.m. MST and are free to the public to attend. Northern Arizona women's tennis returns

Andrea Noguera, and
Daryna Shoshyna, while bringing in two newcomers in
Elen Jantacova and
Leontina Stojanovic.
The tournament debuted in Flagstaff last season, where NAU grabbed two doubles points over Tulsa and New Mexico, adding four singles victories against the Lobos. UNLV will be competing in the Lumberjack Classic for the first time.
The Lumberjacks suffered a 4-3 loss to the Lobos in the 2024 Spring regular season, after falling in doubles play. Noguera found a 6-3, 6-1 victory in singles against New Mexico, as well as Niewiadomska bringing in a 6-2, 7-5 victory at the No. 1 position.
NAU earned a thrilling 4-3 win over No. 69 UNLV in March of 2024, earning two tiebreaks in doubles play to take a 1-0 lead into singles. Noguera earned another point for the 'Jacks on court five, winning her first set in a 7-6 tiebreak. She dominated in second set, easily winning 6-2. Shoshyna had a back-and-forth match on court three, with her first set being pushed to a tiebreaker which she won 7-6. She dropped her second set in a 6-7 tiebreak before winning the third 6-4 to earn the match point for NAU.
