FARMINGTON, Utah (January 29, 2025) – Making an early-season impact,
Takumi Katsuda has been named the Big Sky Tennis Player of the Week, following a 4-0 weekend to open the season in Flagstaff as the Jacks hosted Air Force and UC Riverside.
Katsuda showed out for the Lumberjack squad in his regular-season debut, going 4-0 in singles and doubles play while clinching both the doubles point with partner
Ivan Perisic in a 7-6 (7-4) final, while going on to clinch the match with his singles victory in comeback fashion, taking down Air Force's Langdon Tingleaf, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Katsuda followed up with a doubles victory, once again clinching the point for NAU, with Perisic once again, finishing a 6-4 matchup against Cal Poly's Lucas Suarez and Lucas Mszyca. Katsuda closed out the Jacks 2-0 weekend with a 6-2, 6-1victory over Mszyca in singles play.
