FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 18, 2025) – For the sixth time this season, Northern Arizona women's basketball player
Sophie Glancey has earned the Big Sky Conference's Player of the Week award.
It brings the Lumberjacks to a Big Sky record 10
th honor this season, as
Taylor Feldman has been honored four times and
Nyah Moran honored once. Glancey now has nine awards in her career.
Glancey continues to show why she was picked as the Big Sky Conference's Preseason MVP after averaging a double-double of 21.0 points and 11.5 rebounds over two games. The Lumberjacks eclipsed the 20-win mark for the third-straight season with victories over Portland State and Sacramento State at home.
Against PSU, she scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. She shot 56.3 percent (9-16) from the floor and connected one her lone three-point attempt.
The next game against the Hornets, Glancey made 7-of-16 (43.8%) from the field and 2-of-5 from three-point range while leading the team with three steals and a block after earning another double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds.
On the week, Glancey shot 50 percent (16-32) from the field and 50 percent (3-6) from three-point range in addition to averaging 2.5 steals per game.
Glancey now has 14 double-doubles in 27 games played this season which ranks eighth in the nation. Also, on a national level she ranks 18
th in field goals (190), 24
th in rebounds (250), 28
th in points (486), 40
th in blocks (44), 47
th in rebounds per game (9.3) and 53
rd in points per game (18.0). She leads the Big Sky in points per game, field goal percentage, and blocks per game.
She continues to make her mark at NAU, ranking seventh all-time on the career scoring list with 1,305 points and is eighth in career rebounds with 656.
Northern Arizona is about to embark on its final regular season road swing of the year, playing at Idaho (Feb. 20) and Eastern Washington (Feb. 22).
