Glancey Honored with Fifth Player of the Week Award this Season

FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 4, 2025) – Northern Arizona women's basketball player Sophie Glancey has been honored with her fifth Big Sky Player of the Week award this season, the conference office announced this afternoon.
 
No other player has been honored with the award more times in a season in program history than Glancey has, as she now has eight in her career after winning the award three times in 2023-24. Northern Arizona has also been honored nine out of 13 weeks this season, with Taylor Feldman earning the honor three times and Nyah Moran earning it once.
 
Glancey helped Northern Arizona tie its best start to Big Sky Conference play at 9-1 following two victories over Northern Colorado and Weber State, extending its winning streak out to six games after beating WSU for the 15th-straight time.
 
She put together back-to-back 20-plus point performances, bringing her total to 10 on the season. Against UNC, she scored 22 points on 9-of-14 from the field (64.3%) and was 4-for-5 from the free throw line. She also added five rebounds, an assist and a block.
 
Against the Wildcats, Glancey earned her 12th double-double of the season which is the eighth-most in the nation. She scored 23 points and added 10 rebounds, making 10-of-14 from the field with an assist, a block and a steal.
 
Over the two games, the Boise, Idaho, native scored 45 points for an average of 22.5 points per game. She shot 67.9 percent (19-28) from the field and averaged 7.5 rebounds per game.
 
Glancey also moved up to seventh on NAU's all-time scoring list with 1,238 career points, fifth in career field goals made (495), and is now tied for sixth in career blocks (91). She continues to lead the Big Sky in points per game with 18.2, field goal percentage (51.6%) and blocks (39) while ranking fourth in rebounding.
 
The Lumberjacks will look to spoil Montana State's 13-game winning streak and 10-0 undefeated conference record on Thursday night in Bozeman, Mont., at 7 p.m. Mountain Standard time. NAU then travels to Missoula, Mont., to go for the season sweep over the Griz on Saturday at 2 p.m. MST.
