FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 19, 2025) - A Lumberjack has earned Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. Junior Ellena Slater earned the award for the second time in her career after going bogey-free at the weather-shortened Red Rocks Invitational.
The Kent, England, native carded 15 pars and three birdies at Oak Creek Country Club to secure this year's individual title by one stroke. Her par-five scoring average of 4.50 (-2) tied for the best in the field, and her 15 pars were the second most in the tournament. The team finished in second place with a total 289 (+1), one behind Grand Canyon with a total 288 (E).
It marked her second collegiate victory -Â her first came at the same tournament as a freshman, where she shot 69 (-3), 73 (+1), and 70 (-2) for a 212 (-4) total through 54 holes, winning the invitational by two strokes.
The Lumberjacks will head to Tempe, Ariz., from March 28-30 to compete in the PING ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Course. It will be their last regular season tournament before the Big Sky Conference Championships from April 14-16.
