FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 20, 2025) – NAU Men's Tennis has hit the road for two meetings in Albuquerque this weekend, taking on New Mexico on Friday morning followed by a Saturday morning neutral match with UTSA.
The Jacks have won their last five consecutive matches, taking down Idaho State, Weber State, Montana, and Pratt CC in a doubleheader. Northern Arizona currently holds an overall doubles record of 27-14 while holding an overall singles record of 57-29.
The Lumberjacks are led by doubles pairing of
Dani Torres and
Piotr Galus who hold a 5-1 record together, with three victories coming at the top of the lineup, adding two at the No. 2. Torres also holds a 4-0 record with doubles partner
Jakub Prachar, while
Ivan Perisic and
Takumi Katsuda have gone 4-1 together at the No. 3.
In singles play, NAU is led by a 9-3 record from both Torres and Katsuda. Torres' 9-3 singles play has all come at the No. 1 position while Katsuda has moved around from the No. 4-No. 6.
Semen Agynskyy has won the last seven of his finalized matches, boasting an 8-3 record.
New Mexico is currently ranked No. 67 in the latest ITA rankings, coming off three consecutive victories, knocking down Wichita State, No. 67 Santa Clara, and New Mexico State. UTSA dropped their last matchup to SMU and boasts a 5-8 record on the season.
