FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 5, 2025) – Northern Arizona Men's Tennis (6-4, 1-0 Big Sky) is heading back on the road for two contests in Tucson this week, taking on St. Johns in a Thursday morning neutral meeting and the Arizona Wildcats on Friday afternoon.
The Jacks are currently riding a three-match win streak, picking up victories over UC San Diego and Western New Mexico in Flagstaff before grabbing a road victory in the Big Sky opener at Portland State. NAU is currently in second place, sitting behind Weber State, in the conference standings, as one of just four teams with a conference victory on their record this season.
Piotr Galus clinched the doubles point for NAU in the Jacks first victory over a Big Sky opponent, knocking Portland State 5-2 in the conference opener. Galus and doubles partner
Semen Agynskyy earned a 6-4 victory at the No. 3 slot before Galus went on to clinch the match for the Jacks with a 6-4, 6-3 win at the No. 3 slot once again.
As a team, Northern Arizona boasts a 15-8 record through the first ten matches of the season. The Lumberjack duo of
Dani Torres and
Jakub Prachar lead all doubles pairings with a 4-0 record, playing all matches at the No. 1 position. Torres is also undefeated with partner
Takumi Katsuda with a 2-0 record at the No. 2 position. Katsuda also holds a 4-1 record with
Ivan Perisic at the No. 3 record.
Moving on to singles play, Prachar leads the Jacks with a 7-3 record, primarily playing the No. 2 court. Galus and Torres follow with a 5-2 singles record and a 5-3 singles record, respectively. The team holds a 29-21 singles record.
