FARMINGTON, Utah (April 30, 2025) – A total of 59 Northern Arizona University student-athletes were named to the Big Sky Conference Winter All-Academic team as announced by the league office this afternoon.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at their current Big Sky institution.
For indoor track and field student-athletes, they must have participated in at least half of the team's competitions or competed at the conference championship.
In all, the conference placed 546 indoor track and field, men's basketball and women's basketball student-athletes across 10 institutions on the Winter version of the All-Big Sky Academic team.
The Lumberjacks were represented by 21 men's track and field honorees, 24 for women's track and field, eight for women's basketball and six on the men's basketball team. Of the 59 selections, 11 student-athletes hold a perfect 4.0 GPA with 40 boasting GPAs over a 3.5.
The indoor track and field teams swept the Big Sky Conference indoor titles for the fifth consecutive year and sent nine to the NCAA National Championships, breaking nine Big Sky all-time records throughout the season. Women's basketball finished second in the Big Sky and won a program record 27 games, advancing to the WBIT for its third-straight postseason appearance. Men's basketball earned its first postseason berth since 2015 and placed three on All-Big Sky Conference teams.
