EMU Transfer Arne Osojnik Joins NAU Basketball 2025-26 Roster

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (May 12, 2025) – Northern Arizona Basketball picked up its fifth transfer thus far in former Eastern Michigan guard Arne Osojnik of Slovenia. Osojnik will wear No. 44 for the Lumberjacks.

"We wanted to find a veteran with a proven record. We have been watching Arne the last couple years at both Dream City Christian, and playing against him while he was at Eastern Michigan. Arne has also represented Slovenia on the international stage, giving him experience at elite levels of competition. Arne can not only shoot the 3 but also has a desire to improve his overall game. With Arne, we feel we have met our expectations of finding a seasoned player to be an immediate impact to our 2025-26 season," head coach Shane Burcar said.

Osojnik spent the past two seasons playing for Eastern Michigan University, where he was named to the MAC All-Freshman team in his first year after averaging 8.8 points a game, the most of any true freshman in the league. As a true freshman, Osojnik shot 36.5 percent from three-point range, recording a team-high 65 triples on the year in addition to 31 steals on the season, just one shy of leading the team in that category as well. Osojnik was selected to play for Slovenia at the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup.

As a sophomore, Osojnik started in 20 of his 31 appearances while averaging 26.5 minutes per game. Finishing the season leading the MAC, Osojnik shot 92.3 percent on free throw attempts. The 6'6 guard averaged 7.6 points per game while shooting 43.0 percent from the field in addition to 3.6 rebounds a night.

Osojnik graduated from Dream Citty Christian High School in Phoenix, Ariz. where he played under head coach Kyle Weaver as the team posted a 33-5 record, finishing Osojnik's senior season ranked No. 7 in MaxPreps Top 25.
