FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Sept. 16, 2025) – The Northern Arizona University swimming and diving team has unveiled its full schedule for the 2025-26 campaign, featuring a mix of home events, high-level invitationals, and conference and national championship meets.
"We are excited to get this season started. We have a nice balance of conference and non-conference opponents, both home and away," head swimming coach Andy Johns said. "Competing with the Big 12 and Mountain West schools will certainly present challenges to this young team that will provide the necessary experience to be ready for the MPSF meet at the end of the season. Our divers will get plenty of exposure against the best in the West throughout the year in preparation for hosting the Zone Diving meet here in March."
The Lumberjacks will open their season at home on Sept. 19 with the annual pentathlon. Senior Gracie Munk won the overall event last season, accumulating a score of 3,840. It was the second time Munk has won the pentathlon, with the first being her freshman year in 2022 where she scored 3,610 points. On Oct. 3, NAU will host the annual Blue vs. Gold intrasquad meet.
Under the direction of swimming head coach Andy Johns and diving head coach Nikki Kelsey, the Lumberjacks will embark on a competitive Fall slate highlighted by an All-Arizona at Arizona with Grand Canyon and Arizona State on Oct. 10.
They will hit the road on Oct. 31 to meet Idaho and Washington State on Nov. 1. NAU then returns to the Wall Aquatic Center on Nov. 7 to host New Mexico State.
The Fall portion of the season concludes with the swimmers competing in the Colorado Mesa Invite from Nov. 19-22, while the divers host the Fall edition of the Lumberjack Diving Invite from Nov. 20-2.
The new year begins with a home dual against Colorado State on Jan. 5. From Jan. 8-10, the divers will travel to California for the UCLA Diving Invite, while the swimmers will once again battle the Wildcats down in Tucson, Ariz. on Jan. 9. Additional road meets include New Mexico (Jan. 24) and Utah Tech (Jan. 30-31).
The Spring edition of the Lumberjack Diving Invite is set for Jan. 29-31 in Flagstaff.
Championship season kicks off with the MPSF Conference Championships in Pharr, Texas (Feb. 25-28). It will be the first time that Northern Arizona has competed in this conference, after making the transition from the Western Athletic Conference this year.
The 'Jacks were crowned WAC champions for the past 12 consecutive years. Most recently, the 'Jacks scored a total of 694.5 points, finishing 160.5 points ahead of New Mexico State.
NAU will also host the NCAA Zone Diving in Flagstaff, Ariz. from March 9-11 before qualifying athletes compete at the NCAA Swimming & Diving National Championship in Atlanta, Ga. (March 18-21). Last year, Victoria Knapp represented the Lumberjacks, competing in the NCAA 1-meter National Championship event.
