FARMINGTON, Utah (January 14, 2026) – In a vote by the league's head coaches, the Northern Arizona men's tennis team was picked to finish second in the Big Sky Conference, announced this afternoon.
NAU finished 16-8 and a perfect 8-0 in Big Sky matches in the 2025 Spring season. The Lumberjacks return four players from last years' squad, highlighted by senior
Takumi Katsuda. Katsuda amassed a 13-5 overall record in 2025 and completed a successful Fall season alongside sophomore transfer
Vincent Vohl, as the pair was selected to compete at the ITA Conference Masters this past November in San Diego. Vohl joins the Lumberjacks after spending one year at Tulane, where he picked up three wins in singles and doubles, including a single win against #59 Tulsa.
Rounding out the returners are
Ivan Perisic,
Kai Mills,
Noa Tcherniack, and
Jakub Volesky. Volesky amassed a team-second-best 15-4 record in his freshman campaign and closed the year on a seven-match win streak.
Amongst the freshman class are
Angel Hernandez,
Jakub Jedrzejczak,
Felix Neumeister, and
Daniels Tens.
NAU opens the season next week as it hosts Western New Mexico and Ottawa (Ariz.) for two matches each on Friday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan. 24.
