FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 2026) -Â Northern Arizona track and field collected three Big Sky Athlete of the Week honors following standout performances at the Lumberjack Team Challenge, highlighted by nationally elite marks from Tor Hotung-Davidsen, Desmond Lott, and Hayley Burns.
Hotung-Davidsen was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week after producing one of the top mile performances in the NCAA this season. The senior won the event in 4:02.31 at approximately 7,000 feet of altitude inside the Walkup Skydome, a performance that converts to 3:53.51 at sea level. The mark ranks No. 1 in the Big Sky and moved Hotung-Davidsen to No. 2 nationally among Division I competitors.
Lott earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors following a season-best performance in the weight throw. The senior recorded a mark of 21.20 meters (69-6.75), which currently stands as the top throw in the Big Sky and ranks No. 21 nationally. Lott's effort anchored a strong showing from the Lumberjack throws group in Flagstaff.
Burns was recognized as Women's Track Athlete of the Week after delivering the fastest converted mile in the NCAA this season. The junior captured the mile title in 4:35.77 at altitude, converting to 4:25.76 at sea level. The performance ranks No. 1 in the Big Sky and No. 1 nationally, while also marking a new personal best for Burns.
Northern Arizona continues its indoor season with momentum across events, as the Lumberjacks prepare for the next stretch of conference competition.
