PHARR, Texas (February 26, 2026)Â - The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving team continues to lead the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Conference Championships after the second day, with a total team score of 509.5. The Lumberjacks are 38.5 points ahead of New Mexico State, which sits in second place.
Northern Arizona's senior divers continued their momentum from yesterday's podium sweep with two more trophies in the 3-meter finals.
Margaret Wesche earned her second silver medal of the championship, scoring 300.45. She moved up a spot from the preliminary round, where she placed third with a score of 290.50.
Mackenna Stocker earned the bronze with a finals score of 279.45. The fellow senior had the strongest preliminary round, sitting in first with a 297.90.
Grace Wesche posted a preliminary score of 280.70 to place fifth and went on to finish sixth in the finals with a 261.30.
Kirsten Clark scored 201.65 in the preliminary round, adding to the Lumberjacks' strong scoring on the diving side.
NAU's swimmers had several finals appearances across the four events of the evening.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Northern Arizona placed fifth, clocking a 1:32.56. The team of Beezer Geer, Katarina Klatt, Gracie Munk, and Kokona Watanabe finished just 1.39 seconds behind first place.
Northern Arizona had two swimmers qualify for the "A" final of the 500-yard freestyle. Isahbel Krast recorded a 4:56.03 to place seventh, while Teddy Sabev clocked a 5:01.85 for eighth.
Evalotta Aabrams, who hails from Tallinn, Estonia, touched first in the "B" final with a 4:54.43, which also set a new Estonian record, surpassing the previous mark of 4:56.23.
The penultimate swimming event was the 200-yard individual medley. Kaci Kelaher and Elsa Musselman both qualified for the "A" final and recorded times of 2:02.47 for fourth and 2:02.83 for fifth, respectively. Idaho's Ginger Kiefer took gold with the only sub-two-minute swim, finishing in 1:59.18.
Cydnie Perkins dominated the "B" final, posting a 2:01.18 -Â 3.34 seconds faster than the next competitor. Freshman Kat Richter placed 13th overall, competing in the "B" final with a time of 2:06.27.
In the "C" final, Allie Hayes (2:05.70) placed 18th, Mariana Diaz-Ponce (2:05.97) finished 19th, and freshman Summer Ferguson (2:07.02) placed 23rd overall.
The final race of the evening was the 50-yard freestyle. Klatt recorded a 23.45 in the "B" final, while Watanabe posted a 23.48 in the "C" final.
Tomorrow, the 'Jacks will compete in the preliminaries of the 100-yard butterfly, 400-yard IM, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, and the 400-yard medley relay, beginning at 9 a.m. MST.
The women's team diving exhibition event will follow before the afternoon session begins at 5 p.m. MST, with finals of the morning events.
