FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 3, 2026) – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team alternates its identity to the Astrojacks this week as it takes on Idaho State and Weber State in a pair of home contests.
The Astrojacks will tipoff against the Bengals on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. MST and the Wildcats on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. MST. Both contests will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Astrojacks campaign was created last year to honor Flagstaff's lunar legacy, space science roots, and its distinction as the world's first International Dark Sky City. The alternate identity pays tribute to the discovery of Pluto – made right in Flagstaff – and the region's deep ties to the U.S. space program.
Fans may bid on the game-worn Astrojacks jerseys through Sunday, Feb. 8, at 9 p.m. MST. To enter the
jersey auction, fans must text "ASTROJACKWB" to 855-800-4975, and will subsequently receive a registration link.
NAU launches the week with a 7-16 record, including a 3-7 mark in Big Sky Conference games, following a 94-71 loss to Idaho on the road.
Naomi White continues to lead the nation in scoring amongst freshman and 11th overall at 21.9 points per game on 42.1% shooting. White is also third in country in three pointers on the season (71) and eighth nationally in triples per contest (3.09). Sophomore
Madison Watts remains NAU's leader in rebounds and field goal percentage and is now averaging 10.6 points per game on 48.6% from the floor.
NAU and ISU met previously on Jan. 10 in Pocatello, where the Bengals took a 59-46 win. Despite NAU holding the Bengals to just 59 points – the third-lowest scoring total by a D1 opponent this season, ISU held the Jacks to a season-low 28.1% shooting to get the win. The Astrojacks will look to get back into the win column on Thursday and snap their longest skid of the season since Nov. 28.
The Bengals stand at 14-7 and 7-3 in league games, and most recently took a 69-57 win over Portland State at home. Idaho State remains the conference leader in scoring defense at 58.48, just outside top 50 in the country. Tasia Jordan is scoring 16 points per game while Piper Carlson is grabbing eight boards per game. Kacey Spink dishes 4.19 assists per game, ranking second in the conference while leading the Big Sky in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.63). The Bengals are led by Seton Sobolewski, in his 18th year at the helm in Pocatello, who just won his 300th career game on Monday night against the Vikings.
Weber State brings a 7-16 record into this contest, including a 1-9 mark in Big Sky games. The Wildcats picked up their first conference win at home on Monday night over Sacramento State, 72-64, and will face Northern Colorado on Thursday before heading to Flagstaff. Weber State will look at avenge a 71-58 Lumberjack win in the first meeting on Jan. 8 in Ogden.
